China is the origin of nail polish.It uses in China dates back 3000BC.Around 600 BC the royal house preffered the colour gold and silver.However,eventually these metallick colours of royal favour itsare replaced by red and black .A mixture included beeswax,egg whites,gelatin,gum arabic and vegetable dyes.
In Egypt,high classes painted their nails red whereas, the lower classes wore pale colours.In 9th century nails were tinted withred oils and polished .In the early 20th century people prefer to use polish rather than a painted look and using creams into their nails.

There are three types of nail polishes
(1)Base Coat:-before applying nailpolish to the nails this type of nail polish is used, that was clear and milky-coloured polish formula.The purpose of this type of nailpolish is to restore moisture to the nail and strengthen  nails.this type also can create a smooth surface,and reduse apparent on edges of unhealthy nails or may be due to edges.
(2)Top Coat:-This is clear coloured nail polish that apply after applying nailpolish to the nails.The purpose of this type of nail poliish s to forms a hardened barrier for the  nail that can prevents cratching,peeling andchipping.These are also used as drying quickly.And marketed as"quick drying".
(3)Gel:-Gel polish is made up of methacrylate polymer.Gel polish is long lasting.As we use nail polish similarly gel polish painted on nails.To dry it we have to cured under an ultravoilet LED, because it is not dry without this proccess.The draw back of gel polish is it is difficult to remove than regular nail polish.
